A friend recently saw an orthopedist for knee pain. He was confident in the doctor’s reputation and able to be seen fairly quickly. Suspecting a torn meniscus, the doctor ordered an MRI, which was taken in the same facility. Once the results clarified the tear, he was scheduled for his procedure at the same facility, which would be followed by physical therapy at the same location.
Having your complete care overseen by a trusted doctor in one location is reassuring, especially in a day when people sometimes feel like a number. Feeling like the staff know you on a level that is more than just your immediate need seems to becoming rare. However, in our Shelby Township dental office, we pride ourselves on personalized and complete dental care.
Something that is very reassuring to our dental patients is the longevity of our staff. Many have been on my team for over 20 years. Over half of them have been onboard for over ten years. They are each committed to a philosophy of excellence and work together as a team beautifully. I’m very proud of each.
Another area that is reassuring to patients is our broad range of services. I am a General Dentist as well as a Neuromuscular Dentist. This blend of skills encompasses the entire cranio-facial structure and the goal of harmonious interaction during chewing, speaking, and in resting positions. Because disharmony in one area can be far-reaching, neuromuscular considerations are incorporated into dental treatment or used to properly correct associated problems.
Additionally, providing the skilled care of even complex treatment needs under one roof is reassuring to our patients. Having a single, trusted dentist oversee one’s entire dental well-being – for all ages – provides a more efficient process to achieve and maintain a healthy smile.
For example, patients who choose dental implants are evaluated through advanced skills and intricate technology to determine the most appropriate implant system for their needs. Here, we can place the implants, provide oral or I.V. sedation, attach the replacement teeth to the implanted portion, and coordinate easy payment plans — all in one location.
People have various dental needs at different times of their lives. We provide an environment that attends to each stage skillfully and comfortably. For parents bringing their children, they know how we strive to create a positive experience for their child; one that will help them see dental care in a good light throughout their lifetime.
As children grow, we offer ways to help them keep teeth clean and new ones emerging at proper positions. As wisdom teeth come in, extractions are sometimes needed, which are performed with safety and comfort always a priority.
As adults age and encounter challenges with their teeth or gums, we provide complete care for the treatment of periodontal (gum) disease, fillings, crowns, root canals, and extractions. If tooth loss occurs, we offer all options of tooth replacement, including crown & bridge, dentures, partials, and dental implants.
We are nationally known as an exceptional office for people suffering with TMJ (jaw joint) disorders. These issues can contribute to frequent headaches, migraines, cracked or broken teeth, worn teeth, fractures in teeth, and pain in the jaw joints, Some people with TMJ disorders can also experience night-time clenching and/or grinding. These actions can also be damaging to teeth and cause pain in the neck and facial muscles.
Our advanced skills and specific technology help many TMJ disorder patients to receive an accurate diagnosis. If the jaw joints are the source of these issues, we are able to provide the most conservative treatment needed to resolve the problem. We’ve successfully treated hundreds of patients who have suffered for many years with these problems, some coming from many states away. We take that as quite the compliment!
For individuals who have dental fear or anxiety associated with dental visits, we also have a reputation for helping them achieve a healthy, beautiful smile. Many are able to overcome their fears for good. By providing a respectful environment, gentle touch, and many relaxing features, our patients trust us to provide optimal comfort at every visit.

For patients who prefer to have dentistry performed while in a sleep state, we offer oral sedation (in pill form) as well as I.V. sedation (“twilight sleep”). Both are administered safely by trained staff while the patient is closely monitored with advanced safety equipment.
Too, we have successfully treated a number of patients for sleep apnea. Rather than adhere to the frustrations of CPAP therapy, we are able to create small, custom-made oral appliances for those who have mild to moderate apnea. These can be worn comfortably and are FDA approved for their effectiveness.
For people who want to improve the appearance of their smile, our advanced skills in cosmetic dentistry create a look, feel and function that is natural and flattering to each patient. We pride ourselves for the results and are committed to using one of the nation’s premier dental labs for amazingly natural-looking restorations.
Whether the need includes porcelain crowns, porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, gum reshaping, or realignment (available through Invisalign), we are dedicated to optimal patient comfort and well-paced appointments according to the desires of each individual.
