HAVING IT DONE RIGHT WORTH THE DRIVE
When Michael Skierski’s disabled son had a toothache, other dentists couldn’t find the cause. Michael remembered seeing ads of Dr. Ban Barbat’s dental care and, even though she was a distant drive, he had hopes that she could get the problem resolved. In fifteen minutes, Mike explains, she’d found the problem and began the treatment his son needed.
In years back, a previous dentist fitted Michael with a partial to replace several lower, back teeth. “The dentist made me a partial but I just couldn’t get used to it,” states Michael. “It never sit right and felt foreign in my mouth.”
The partial was so uncomfortable that Michael quit wearing it. Over time, he noticed that the tooth next to the empty space began to loosen. “I ended up losing that tooth and felt this would just continue.”
Michael was aware that Dental Implants were available through Dr. Barbat’s office. After consulting with Dr. Barbat, he decided to proceed. During the placement process, his comfort was always a high priority. “They want to make sure you have a good experience,” Michael adds.
With his treatment now complete, Michael enjoys chewing on both sides of his mouth again. “I haven’t chewed on my right side in over ten years. This is like having my own teeth back,” he shares. “This is the route to go.”
For adults who have considered implants and decided they were unaffordable, Michael encourages them to “work something out.” Because Dental Implants are designed to last a lifetime, they are an excellent investment. Dr. Barbat reminds those interested that several financial plans are available, some that are interest-free and require no down payment.

2014 SCHOLARSHIP WINNER
2014 marks the 13th year that Dr. Barbat has awarded the Ban R. Barbat, DDS-PC Scholarship. This year, Eisenhower High School senior Alaina K. Bernard was been selected the scholarship recipient. This is awarded each year by Dr. Barbat to provide financial support for students pursuing a health-related career. Alaina will be attending Michigan State University this Fall, working towards a pre-medical Chemistry major.
“We had many strong applicants this year,” states Dr. Barbat, “but Alaina stood out in so many ways.” In addition to a high GPA and class rank despite a rigorous curriculum, Alaina has contributed to her family through part-time positions while also helping a brother with learning disabilities, who was also part of her inspiration.
Congratulations to Alaina and best wishes for a fulfilling career!
Complete Dental Care For All Ages!
Although Dr. Barbat and her team are highly skilled in advanced procedures, they are proudest of the whole-family patient relationships. “Caring for the ongoing dental needs of all ages is the reason I became a dentist,” states Dr. Barbat. “Seeing children grow into teens and parents become grandparents is immensely satisfying. Helping families to share healthy smiles, at every age, is why we refer to our ‘patient family.’
In addition to periodic cleanings and exams, Dr. Barbat and Dr. Razzak provide fillings or inlays for cavities, root canals, gum disease treatment, bonding for chipped or broken teeth, extractions and other dental procedures that may arise for different members of your family.
ALL PATIENTS are important members of our ‘family’ and we thank you for entrusting us with the smiles in your family!
One Implant – Several Teeth
In many cases, adults who have postponed or avoided Dental Implants felt they couldn’t afford them. Because they were missing more than one tooth, they assumed an implant would be needed to replace each one.
While the number of implants used in Dental Implant treatment is a significant factor in the cost, in most cases, one implant can support two or more teeth missing. Teeth held by implants can replace a bridge without needing the support of adjacent teeth. Since implants are supported by the jaw bone, just as natural tooth roots, this prevents the need to crown two otherwise healthy teeth for the sole purpose of supporting a bridge.
Many people who wear partials are also pleased to learn that one implant can support several teeth so they can avoid the inconvenience of a removable appliance. They are able to eat the foods they love without fear of slips or having trapped food particles cause discomfort to gums.
Since Dental Implants are designed to last your lifetime, they are an exceptional investment. We also offer several easy payment plans with no interest and no down payment. Rather than assume Dental Implants are out of your reach, call (586) 739-2155 for a no-cost Consultation.
